An encrypted pdf-based worldwide newsletter for Emerging Markets
After having a problem with various mail browsers and html newsletters Cisco needed to find another way to communicate with their various emerging markets offices.
Because of the need to distribute sensitive financial data as well as general news, I suggested an interactive pdf. Not only did this allow us to encrypt the sensitive data with a username and password, But the traditional dtp workflow allowed us to produce a considered, designed piece with a good looking interface and layout, that attracted and kept people’s attention.
An added bonus of the interactive pdf format is the ability to add email and web links in the document, allowing cisco to serve dynamic information from their site if needed.
All this meant this newsletter had a huge and swift take up, bringing keeping their emerging markets informed and up to date.
